Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
· Responsible for the general accounting function including preparing/reviewing journal entries, preparing and maintaining the plant P&L, maintaining balance sheet schedules and account reconciliations. Managing the daily activities for the monthly and annual closings and account analysis. Analytical support includes cost accounting, process improvement, financial analysis, and capital oversight. Provides clear financial information to drive improvements in decision-making and process as well as preparing reports and KPIs for Finance/Operations monthly meeting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assist accounting team in the successful execution of closings (monthly, quarterly and year-end) on a timely basis; including but not limited to account reconciliations, margin analysis and journal entries.
2. Plan and manage standard cost updates. Analyze and maintain the integrity of the standard cost system. Respond to requests related to product cost and margin analysis. Set up standard costs on new items and perform routine plant-wide cost updates. Analyze and assist in establishing overhead rates. Analyze the application of labor and overhead rates. Perform monthly cost roll of raw material and finished goods.
3. Responsible for inventory and finished goods analysis.
4. Responsible for recording and maintaining fixed asset software.
5. Assist with and provide documentation to support financial audit and year-end related accounting activity.
6. Prepare and assist with the annual budget process.
7. Oversee all State Sales & Use Tax Filings.
8. Prepare and file local compliance reporting as necessary (including process of annual 1099’s, Annual real estate tax payments and Manufacturing surveys).
9. Assist and cross-train with other accounting and finance functions. Contribute to overall organizational effectiveness through building collaborative relationships.
10. Conduct various ad-hoc projects related to manufacturing operations cost and expense analysis that may from time to time be allocated to the Finance department.
11. Contribute to a cooperative working effort by demonstrating a willingness to perform other job-related work, as needed, or requested.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time
· Responsible for following all Food Safety related policies and procedures
· Responsible for following all Safety Rules, policies, procedures and work instructions
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA in Accounting or Finance.
- 4+ years of accounting experience in manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with MS Office – advanced proficiency with Excel.
- Strong verbal, written, analytical and people skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational, time management and prioritization abilities.
