About the Role
The role will be both a technical and a process leader on the DevOps team. You will be leading other engineers and collaborating across teams to deliver DevOps best practice architectures and solutions. These will include IAC and development pipelines, monitoring tools, scalable application environments, scalable support infrastructure, multi-account networking, and the general uptime of all Raintree cloud environments in AWS.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Through collaboration with architecture and software engineering teams, lead the design and implementation of application environment infrastructure and support services in AWS.
- Lead DevOps team project and scrum activities, collaborating with leadership and stakeholders; leading and participating in multiple projects at once.
- Drive the design, implementation, and optimization of team best practices related to Infrastructure as Code, code repository configuration, CI/CD pipelines, AWS environment structure, networking, security components, and other technologies that support the daily operation of the Raintree systems.
- Lead the creation of runbook documentation for other engineers to follow when addressing system problems, implementing solutions, or maintaining infrastructure components.
- Lead system monitoring efforts using DataDog and other tools, identify points for optimization, and train members of the team on tooling.
- Lead performance tuning and cost optimization efforts within the environment.
- Assist in the leadership of Incident Management processes related to the Raintree applications and databases running in our environment.
- Support a 24x7 on-call rotation.
Position Proficiencies and Requirements
- 10+ years designing, implementing, and supporting DevOps processes related to containerized (ECS or EKS), serverless workloads, configuration management, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation.
- 8+ years of system administration experience related to Linux and/or Windows OS
- 8+ years of experience architecting secure by design standards and delivering Infrastructure as Code leveraging Terraform, AWS
