About the team
Be part of the Playback Experience team here at Amazon Music. We make music happen. We are looking for a development engineer enthusiastic to get our engine humming on mobile devices. Our clients and services are the critical link between your device—Echo, iOS, Android, Fire TV—and the Amazon Music catalog. Over 80 million songs. Many delivered in ultra high definition and Spatial audio. Our mission is the fast, flawless, and secure delivery and playback of music for our customers. Our playback engine plays the music on millions of iOS, Android clients, and Fire TV devices, while our back-end services serve hundreds of millions of requests each day.
The pay range for this position in Colorado is $143,000 - 194,000 yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act. Base (CEPA) pay information is based on market location. Applicants should apply via Amazon's internal or external careers site.

Basic Qualifications


  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • A passion for testing browser-based code
  • Strong C++ coding skills
  • Mobile platform development experience.
  • Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures and algorithm design, and complexity analysis
  • Experience developing, releasing, and operating client side products (iOS, Android, Desktop, Embedded Devices)
