Job Summary
The Pharmacy Coordinator I coordinates the day-to-day operations of various pharmacy programs. This position organizes communication between program participants, the internal team, and external partners, to ensure program operations run smoothly. This position supports the implementation of all program objectives to meet performance metrics.
Duties
Promotes member enrollment in programs through motivational interviewing to enhance the utilization of available benefits and optimizes the improvement of clinical outcomes. Drives the facilitation of referrals, meticulous documentation, and harmonious coordination of program activities, ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of essential operations. (60%)
Prepares and assures completion of program reporting requirements, including implementation of progress reports, audits, and quality assessments. Program reports including findings, conclusions and recommendations should be communicated to the pharmacy department and external partners as appropriate. (10%)
Identifies areas for program improvement and works collaboratively with the pharmacy team and external partners to develop new workflows. Assists with updating program policy and procedures as appropriate. (10%)
Acts as a liaison between the department and external partners to coordinate responses to inquiries, mandates, audits and requests for information. (10%)
Maintains implemented tracking systems and creates new ones as necessary for letters created for staff, members, providers, and plan partners. Proactive in obtaining corrected information as needed. (10%)

High School Diploma/or High School Equivalency CertificateEducation Preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Public Health or Related FieldExperience
Required:
At least 6 months - 1 year of experience as a coordinator in a managed care or healthcare environment.
Previous experience in customer service or health care program coordination.
Experience performing detailed and accurate data entry.
Preferred:
Experience with pharmacy-related programs and familiarity with pharmacy laws and regulations.
Skills
Required:
Exceptional time management, facilitation, and organizational skills, including ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong problem-solving/ analysis skills.
Proficient skills in PC and database management including Microsoft Excel, Access, and Visio.
Ability to develop and work with complex databases.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Proficiency in grasping effective communication concepts, utilizing tools, and employing techniques.
Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Must have knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations and possess the ability to adhere to privacy standards.
Must be detail-oriented, organized, and efficient.
Preferred:
Motivational interviewing is desirable.
Bilingual in one of L.A. Care Health Plan’s threshold languages is highly desirable. English, Spanish, Chinese, Armenian, Arabic, Farsi, Khmer, Korean, Russian, Tagalog, Vietnamese.
