Firmware Engineering Intern

The Generac connectivity team is looking for an intern to support our firmware testing efforts. The position involves setting up and maintaining our firmware test stations in our Waukesha and Pewaukee locations. The ideal candidate must be comfortable playing with electronics and have a general interest in software development.

This position is part-time in Waukesha, Wisconsin throughout the school year (approx. 10 hrs/wk) and full time (40 hrs/wk) when school is not in session. Actual hours are negotiable based on class schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• The position involves using Robot Framework, Python, Git, network infrastructure, and headless Linux servers. No previous experience is required for these items if you are a fast learner.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
