We are seeking a professional like you who will be responsible for contributing to develop, implement, and monitor strategy for global logistics procurement categories in the US and Canada. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, preparation and execution of Requests for Quotation (RFQ); contract implementation and monitoring; category management; leadership/contribution of projects; execution of supplier and risk management.

As a Global Category Buyer - Airfreight, LCL, CEP, Lead Logistics Provider, you create chemistry by...

 

• Being responsible for the Procurement Categories Airfreight, LCL, Parcel and Lead Logistics Providers (4PL Brokerage/Freight Forwarding) in US and Canada.
• Preparing and executing RFQ’s in collaboration incorporating business unit requirements, roles for negotiation, list of suppliers and alternatives to be negotiated into agreements.
• Managing contracts and determining appropriate actions; inform relevant parties (e.g., operations, business units) about negotiation results; manage supply issues.
• Communicating business unit needs and provide market knowledge (e.g. supply market structure and dynamics, strategies of suppliers, pricing structures, opportunities, and threats) to Global Category Manager.
• Supporting Global Category Manager on strategy development and implementation (e.g. strategic goals, strategic options, implementation plans).
• Executing Supplier Management according to plans developed with Global Category Manager, managing relationships with key suppliers, evaluating supplier performance, driving supplier innovation.
• Executing Risk Management approach with appropriate actions.
• Providing guidance on carrier invoicing disputes.
• Managing data loading into various systems capturing rates, bids, contract boilerplates, etc.

If you...

 

• Hold a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, Transportation and Distribution, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus.
• Have 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Procurement, and/or Transportation and Distribution, with a preference for experience in marine and/or air transportation, as well as commercial experience.
• Demonstrate strong negotiation and analytical skills.
• Possess knowledge of suppliers, market conditions, products, and technologies in the relevant area.
• Are familiar with procurement processes and guidelines (this is a plus).
• Have strong technical skills (e.g., SAP, Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint).
