Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level or Experienced Procurement Agent to join our dynamic team in Berkeley or Hazelwood, Missouri.

This team procures goods and services in support of F/A-18 and F-15 Boeing Defense Programs and offers a unique opportunity to support and enable operations across many areas of the Boeing Company.

The procurement agent will execute and manage contracts for a variety of products and services that range in value and complexity. Responsibilities include issuing Requests for Proposals/Quotes, performing proposal fact-finding and Price and Cost Analysis, developing negotiation strategies utilizing supplier cost & pricing data, contract terms and conditions and preparing contractual documents and binding agreements. This also includes managing supplier performance to ensure delivery, quality, financial stability, and other key support to programs. In addition, the team will be responsible for driving, cultivating, and maintaining the supplier relationship.

The candidate must possess strong operational and financial business acumen, demonstrate adaptability, strong communication, problem solving, conflict management skills, and take initiative.

Position Responsibilities - Mid-Level 3:

  • Integrates program, customer, product and in-service strategies into source selection, negotiation and contracting strategies
  • Negotiates pricing and contract terms and conditions
  • Prepares and executes negotiated contractual documents and binding agreements
  • Conducts risk, issues and opportunities management
  • Manages supply and demand, schedules, supplier quality, delivery and financial performance
  • Initiates and executes supplier improvement activities and integrates results into contracting strategies

Position Responsibilities - Experienced Level 4:

  • Capable of performing all Mid-Level responsibilities
  • Provides oversight and management of supply and demand, schedules, supplier quality, delivery and financial performance
  • Leads negotiation of pricing and contract terms and conditions
  • Prepares and executes negotiation strategies resulting in contractual documents and binding agreements
  • Interprets and enforces contract terms and conditions
  • Consults with external customers to resolve supplier performance issues
  • Leads supplier performance teams to develop strategic supplier solutions across programs and commodities
  • Participates on supply chain process improvement teams and identifies improvement opportunities for potential integration into supplier contract strategies
  • Acts as a Lead for less experienced buyers, providing mentoring and coaching

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position is for 1st shift.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • More than 3 years of experience working with Supplier Management, Supply Chain, and/or Procurement practices and processes

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Mid-Level 3: More than 5 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • More than 5 years of experience drafting, negotiating and executing complex contracts and subcontracts
  • More than 5 years of experience in negotiating contracts or managing supplier performance
  • More than 5 years of experience in a high volume, fast paced environment
  • Experience handling unique problem solving and multi-tasking of urgent issues daily issues
  • Senior -Level 4: More than 8 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • More than 8 years of experience drafting, negotiating and executing complex contracts and subcontracts
  • More than 8 years of experience in negotiating contracts or managing supplier performance
  • More than 8 years of experience in a high volume, fast paced environment
  • Experience handling unique problem solving and multi-tasking of urgent issues daily issues
  • Experience coaching, training, & m
