We are seeking to welcome a new team member to the Pipeline Operations Team in the role of Pipeline Maintenance & CSU Coordinator. This position will support pipeline operations across the full VG gas transmission pipeline portfolio (TCPL, CX, GX). The ideal candidate will be a team-oriented technical professional with a skillset focused on pipeline maintenance and commissioning in the gas pipeline industry. A secondary focus on pipeline regulatory requirements and project / contractor coordination will be a necessity. This person will have significant experience in the natural gas industry working in both an office and field/site environment. This person will be able to develop, execute and optimize maintenance plans, commissioning procedures / SOP’s and other related pipeline technical objectives.
The Pipeline Maintenance & CSU Coordinator will report to the Pipeline Operations team’s Senior Manager and will work alongside of other VG Operations / Project teams, being ultimately responsible for the execution and the performance of VG’s pipeline maintenance and commissioning plans.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation and optimization of the maintenance program & plans for VG gas transmission pipelines.
- Lead the development, implementation and optimization of the commissioning program & plans for VG gas transmission pipelines.
- Ensure the VG Gas Transmission Pipeline O&M Manual and related programs are applied on all pipeline assets, with special focus on maintenance and commissioning of in-service pipeline assets.
- Support regulatory compliance for pipeline assets, including assistance with site audits and field visits and support for PHMSA and FERC visits and/or data request.
- Manage pipeline operations interfaces for maintenance & commissioning with other VG pipeline groups and VG projects. Coordinate VG resources and contractors as required.
- Ensure all pipeline maintenance and commissioning is executed following VG standards, meeting or exceeding applicable regulations.
- Prepare and manage pipeline OPEX budgets for maintenance and commissioning events, including detailed cost planning for major brownfield commissioning events.
- Ensure VG HSSE programs are followed for all gas transmission pipeline maintenance and commissioning activity.
- Ensure Pipeline personnel have necessary training and qualifications to support maintenance and commissioning programs and plans.
- Ensure maintenance and commissioning spare parts programs are developed and executed to meet VG gas transmission pipeline needs.
- Provide technical leadership for maintenance and commissioning of gas compression assets. Develop, implement and maintain procedures and standards related to gas compression equipment maintenance.
- Prepare reports and lead presentations related to pipeline operations maintenance & commissioning activity and performance.
- Review and comment on Engineering deliverables, plans and procedures including pipeline, Meter Stations, compressor stations and other related infrastructure.
- Support activity related to external public pipeline interfaces such as LA811 One-Calls, public awareness requirements, etc.
- Manage technical interfaces with pipeline gas suppliers. Prepare maintenance plans, coordinate shared facility activity, liaise with VG Gas Supply team to identify upstream impacts to VG assets.
- Periodic regional travel between VG offices and sites will be required. Travel between end-to-end portions of all VG gas transmission pipeline assets will be considered a regular activity.
- Work sites may require movement on and around elevated and marine based structures, including road and marine craft transport along the ROW.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or commensurate work experience.
- 5-10 years’ experience in maintenance and/or commissioning leadership roles.
- Must be able to demonstrate leadership skills and an aptitude for team building.
- Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC.
