Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) for our Medical-Surgical unit. In this role, you will deliver exceptional patient care utilizing the core nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Managing a diverse population of adult acute care patients, you will coordinate all clinical nursing practices and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient care delivery and the best possible patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Acute Care Delivery: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized, evidence-based nursing care for a diverse panel of medical-surgical patients.

• Clinical Coordination: Direct daily nursing interventions, manage medication administration, and monitor vital signs and patient progress.

• Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Partner seamlessly with physicians, case managers, therapists, and support staff to build cohesive, effective discharge and care plans.

• Patient & Family Advocacy: Educate patients and their support systems regarding diagnoses, treatment protocols, medications, and post-discharge wellness.

• Quality & Safety: Maintain precise, compliant electronic medical record (EMR) documentation while adhering to hospital policies, safety standards, and Illinois state regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience:

• Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN).

• Experience: Previous clinical experience on a medical-surgical or similar acute care unit is preferred, but passionate New Graduates ready to begin their residency are highly encouraged to apply!

Licensure & Certifications:

• Required: Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Illinois.

• Required: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.

• Required: Ability to complete a Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) training course within 1 month of your hire date.

• Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the AHA or American Red Cross.
