Coordinator of Retreat Programming

The Coordinator of Retreat Programming is responsible for the logistics, planning, and execution of retreat programs, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for participants. This includes handling bookings, managing the schedule, coordinating with service providers, and resolving any issues that may arise
Essential Functions:
Operate Outdoor Adventure Activities
- Assist with the organization and presentation of the Catholic retreat programming that integrates the spiritual, emotional, and physical challenges of the high and low ropes course
- Facilitate transformative experiences for school and youth groups through outdoor adventure-based activities rooted in Catholic values
- Assist with the coordination of scheduling and logistics for all outdoor adventure offerings, ensuring smooth operations in collaboration with retreat staff and visiting groups
- Collaborate with the group leaders to co-create retreat agendas that blend prayer, reflection, and outdoor challenge elements
Build relationships with Catholic School and Parish Communities
- Work with the Director to build and maintain relationships with Catholic Schools’ and parishes to offer engaging, mission-aligned outdoor retreat opportunities for youth
- Participate in Archdiocesan events that increase visibility for O’Dwyer programs
- Coordinate off-campus relationship building opportunities with school and parish leadership.
- Work with Director to organize tailored retreat experiences
- Follow up with school and parish contacts following indoor and outdoor retreats to ensure repeated guest usage of dynamic program experiences
Manage Operation of Adventure Course
- Work directly with the Director to assist with training, scheduling, and recruiting staff, providing ongoing instructions and in safety procedures, facilitation techniques, and emergency response
- Help facilitate the ropes course, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained, inspected, and compliant with safety standards and industry best practices
- Manage inventory and procurement of gear and supplies
- Work with the Director to maintain O’Dwyer Retreat House records
Qualifications:
- Must have a High School diploma; some college is preferred
- Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing
- Planning and facilitation experience
- Experience within a ministry environment preferable
- Availability to work a schedule that includes weekend hours
- Willingness to work at heights of at least 20 feet to facilitate adventure activities
- Experience with facilitation Catholic formational programs is preferable
- Excellent customer service and relational skills
- Proficiency in computer use, including Microsoft Office Suite, social media, and websites
- Excellent writing, proofreading, and organizational skills
Pay Range: $50,000 - 60,000, Annualized
