Job Description

The Customer Logistics Transport Specialist – Road Transport is responsible for ensuring reliable, cost‑effective, and compliant road transportation to customers across Western and Eastern Europe. The role focuses on managing carrier performance in line with contractual agreements and proactively resolving transport‑related issues to safeguard customer service levels.
The specialist monitors and maintains transport service performance through close coordination with carriers, 3PL partners, and internal stakeholders, and drives timely escalations when required. The role also contributes to the development and execution of transportation strategies aligned with business objectives. The role supports continuous improvement, cost and risk control by tracking transport deviations, surcharges, and operational bottlenecks, while ensuring accurate execution and data consistency throughout systems.

Job Responsibilities:
• Interacts with related functions in commercial, supply chain, or IT organizations to identify opportunities for improving administrative business processes, working under limited supervision.
• Owns (directly or as a delegation) the warehousing operations in her/his scope, securing inbound goods receiving, storage, handling and picking/packing are executed efficiently with focus on highest quality and patient safety, end-to-end optimization and in full compliance with processes defined and with quality, regulatory, sustainability, legal and trade compliance obligations.
• Oversees the management execution of warehousing contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions while proactively identifying opportunities for cost savings and service enhancements.
• Ensures the quality assurance of master data and transactional data throughout the entirety of his/her operational activities, maintaining a stringent adherence to established protocols and standards to guarantee accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all created and updated records.
• Handles deliveries to and from the distribution center to maintain service levels and communicates effectively with internal and external stakeholders, fostering positive relationships and ensuring alignment on distribution strategies and objectives.
• Analyzes operational physical distribution activities of the distribution center including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping processes, aligning execution with organizational goals for cost reduction, order fulfillment speed, and on-time delivery.
• Implements continuous improvement initiatives in the distribution center, leveraging data and industry best practices to optimize space utilization, picking accuracy, and overall efficiency.
• Monitors inventory control between third-party logistics (3PL) providers and SAP systems, ensuring accuracy and timely execution of specific operations such Proof of Delivery (POD) setting for revenue recognition.
• Stays abreast of cutting-edge technologies and innovative distribution strategies and adheres to standard processes and tools, ensuring consistency and alignment with best practices.
• Acts as a subject matter expert in large-scale projects, providing insights and guidance on physical distribution support matters and sharing knowledge and best practices to facilitate professional development.
• Resolves complex IT issues related to interfaces with 3PLs, collaborating with IT teams and external partners to implement effective solutions that mitigate potential issues to maintain efficient system performance.
• Proposes process and/or IT changes for global implementation, leveraging expertise to drive continuous improvement and efficiency gains and tracks the effectiveness of implemented improvements, measuring their impact on cost reduction, order fulfillment speed, and overall customer satisfaction.

Minimum required Education:
Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or equivalent.

Minimum required Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience with Bachelor's in areas such as Supply Chain, Transport, Logistics, Operations, Physical Distribution or equivalent OR no prior experience required with Master's Degree.
