Summer Activity Racket Sports Camp Instructor (Magnuson Community Center)

The Racket Sports Camp Instructor at Magnuson Community Center will lead youth between the ages of 8-12 primarily in tennis and other racket sports such as Pickleball or Badminton or Tennis. Camp objectives include learning the rules and gameplay of the sports, improving hand-eye coordination, and demonstrating good sportsmanship.

 

Pay Range: $24.50- $27.50 hourly DOE/non-exempt; seasonal summer position only

 

Summer Activity Racket Sports Camp Location:

  • Magnuson Community Center

 

Summer Activity Racket Sports Camp Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday 9am – 12pm, 1pm – 4pm
  • Work dates are contingent on camps meeting the minimum enrollment

 

Work Weeks:

  • Weekly camps could be 2-8 weeks starting 6/30/2025.

 

Summer Activity Racket Sports Camp Instructor Requirements:

  • Develop and deliver developmentally appropriate camp lesson plans and activities for ages 8-12.
  • Plan, lead, implement, and run age-appropriate drills and games for the tennis/racket sports program, focusing on the fundamentals and good sportsmanship.
  • Instructors are expected to program their camps with support from the facility recreation coordinator.
  • Prepare a weekly calendar of activities.
  • Daily set-up, take down and cleaning of space.
  • Generate supply lists for each camp; there will be class supply funds available.
  • Complete required administrative reports, such as attendance and activity logs, accident/incident reports, hot sheets, and evaluations.
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings.

 

Summer Activity Racket Sports Camp Instructor Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Prior youth programming experience required
  • Must have demonstrated working experience working with families, community members and partners to foster positive relationships
