About the role
Production Supervisor
Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is looking for a Production Supervisor . This position will support all areas of production by supervising processes equipment and personnel associated with Production in Coating line and accounting for production and quality of production.
What you will be doing:
- Maintain clean, safe, organized material storage areas.
- Maintain equipment by planning and carrying out PM’s as prescribed by documented procedure and by creating documented procedure for PM’s wherever needed.
- Produce product of exceptional quality by implementing QA approach to meeting company production objectives.
- Maintain ADP software for all employee reasons.
- Complete Employee headcount in BOX daily.
- Assist the manager with all performance reviews and status changes when needed.
- Provide leadership by example for all employees.
- Coach and train employees in policy and procedure regarding safety, quality and productivity in that order of importance.
- Plan and assign daily tasks geared toward meeting daily schedule and departmental goals to area employees.
- (Inventory Management) Control scrap logs in thrive, and improve yearly inventory accuracy.
- (Part Identification) All items are to be identified with correct part number or DNI labels.
- Meet with and work with scheduling, Planning, Shipping, Supervisors, and inventory control daily to assess needs to support today and future production.
- Turn in daily receiving accurately and on time.
- Write and report all safety incidents to the department manager, HR, and safety depending on full/temp employees.
- Review department status daily and report all findings that relate to production to the department manager daily through email or in person.
- Actively participate in process improvement projects geared toward cost savings in labor and materials.
- Organize and plan for all upcoming situations and make requests for additional manpower where needed at least one day prior to production.
- Review performance and attendance of line employees and, Document performance and disciplinary actions.
- Create and report prescribed Metrics daily weekly and monthly at manager’s request.
The skills and experience you need:
Education:
- High school diploma or GED.
Experience:
- Two - Three years of experience in a position of similar responsibility in manufacturing.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, product designs, safety, quality and workflow needs.
- Supervision of a team of 30-60 employees.
Other:
- Strong documentation skills, reporting skills and computer skills.
