Senior Director, GM - Insurance Brokerage & Marketplace

The General Manager - Insurance Brokerage & Marketplace is responsible for leading one of NerdWallet’s largest business lines, with full P&L responsibility. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with both a marketplace business and an insurance brokerage.  In this role you will lead the team, grow the existing business, identify new opportunities, and build out new lines of business.

As the General Manager of Insurance Brokerage and Marketplace, you are the executive of the full-suite insurance business.  Success is measured by the growth and sustainability of the insurance business.  In partnership with executive-level leadership you will develop a high-level strategy and lead a team of direct reports and cross-functional partners to execute the strategy to deliver growth to the larger NerdWallet business. You will also take organization and department-level goals and translate them into tangible team member goals and expectations.

Your experience:

• 10+ years of experience in strategic and operating roles with proven results from taking strategy through successful execution
• Demonstrated experience in insurance brokerage and marketplace initiatives
• Experience driving growth at a recognized consumer brand with an emphasis on test-and-learn development
• Consistent record of driving business outcomes by linking your organization’s work to macro business objectives using customer and financial data effectively
• Business development or strategic partnership experience
• Deep data and analytics orientation; P&L management 
• Industry background in financial services and insurance, specifically
• Experience running cross-functional organizations through times of growth and change
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
