Overview:
GM Energy is seeking a Senior Product Manager - EV Charging  to lead the strategy, development, and execution of our Home and Public Charging software portfolio. This role partners closely with product peers, technical teams, and business stakeholders to deliver seamless, customer-centric energy solutions. You’ll help shape backend logic, hardware integrations, and customer experiences across our platform, driving innovation in EV charging and home energy management.

Reporting to the Group Product Manager, Home Energy and Utility Software, this role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and is passionate about accelerating EV adoption through intuitive software experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead product strategy and roadmap for Home and Public software in collaboration with the broader Software Product Management team.
  • Own and drive backend logic for charging and energy management, app updates, and platform enhancements.
  • Define and prioritize product features, write user stories and acceptance criteria, and manage the agile development backlog.
  • Champion customer needs through direct feedback and insights, ensuring the roadmap aligns with user expectations.
  • Collaborate with IT and PMO teams on sprint planning, demos, and program syncs.
  • Deliver clear, concise updates to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Develop strategies to increase user engagement and adoption.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs, recommending improvements based on performance.
  • Research new ideas to support EV adoption and enhance GM Energy’s software offerings.
  • Partner with QA and IT teams to ensure robust testing, training, and production readiness.
  • Follow GM’s software development standards across design, testing, deployment, and change management.
  • Support cross-functional GM Energy initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in product management, program management, software development, or customer experience.
  • Familiarity with EVs, charging infrastructure, IoT devices, energy markets, and charging software standards is required
  • Bachelor Degree required
  • Experience with software product management practices preferred.
  • Ability to quickly learn GM’s internal tools and systems.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership.

Compensation: 

  • The expected base compensation for this role is: $103,000 - $157,900. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position. 

  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level
