Who We Are

Join the HII Mission Technologies – Our Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH) works on the only shipyard to execute the RCOH of aircraft carriers halfway through a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier’s 50-year service. The mid-life RCOH includes refueling of nuclear reactors, overhauling most machinery, and modernizing warfare systems. RCOH ensures the Navy's aircraft carriers incorporate improved capabilities needed for success in the remaining 25 years of service. Your accomplishments will make a positive impact supporting the U.S. Navy and America’s national defense! We are seeking a Pipefitter to join our growing team. The selected candidate will be supporting RCOH by preforming a number of pipefitting processes and related duties on shipboard piping systems to assist with refit and fleet modernization.

**Candidate must be able to demonstrate Pipefitting ability on needed processes through qualification testing and pass with a satisfactory grade from our Quality Assurance Team within the first three weeks from start date for continued employment.**

What You Will Do

  • Support trades team by working on active class surface ships to assist with alterations and installations for fleet modernization.  
  • Works to meet standards on various contracts such as Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Naval Information Warfare Systems Command and Naval Surface Warfare Center. 
  • Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment. 
  • Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as shipboard systems, integrated systems and related equipment/software at company, customer and/or field locations. 
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problems in minimum time. 
  • Applies comprehensive understanding of production and processes toward completion of assignments. 
  • Responsible for interfacing with customers, managing subcontractors and ability to provide work direction to others. Performs a variety of complicated and non-routine tasks. 
  • Develops and uses technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports and task or trip reports. 
  • Schedules, reports and briefs customers and senior management. 
  • Performs duties outside of specialty in order to complete installation or work assignment.

What You Must Have

  • High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 6 years of related experience. Prefer technical/professional certifications. Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
