Who we are looking for

Nike is looking for Sr. FlyKnit Engineer to help create the future of sport by innovating new upper textile from concept to commercialization that meet the highest performance and sustainability standards. This is an individual contributor role that will be working in a fast-paced environment, multi-tasking and project managing across multiple seasonal workstream with WHQ and off-shore partners.

What you will work on

You will be located at Nike’s World Headquarters in Beaverton, OR, where you will be a key team member of the Knit Product Creation (KPC) team to craft and develop new performance footwear alongside with category designers, developers, and engineers to build the future Nike’s Flyknit footwear. 

You will problem solve and influence the development and patterning of our most advanced knit uppers to zonally engineer product benefits through yarn selection, knit techniques and method of make solutions.

Who you will work with

You will work mainly with the WHQ Dimension/Category Footwear Designers, Developers, Engineers, and Product Managers to ideate and create new upper fabrics. You will also be closely aligned to Flyknit Programming who will drive the creation of the knit component/part. You will engage with the Flyknit Programmers and Engineers in our Asia based Product Creation Centers, and footwear factories to ensure manufacturability. Lastly you will collaborate with the Leadership Team along with your fellow Flyknit Programmers and Engineers to advance initiatives that move and grow Flyknit for the greater group. 

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and education preferred, or additional years' in a related field.

  • Minimum 6+ years combined product development, engineering, or manufacturing experience

  • In depth knowledge of textile and material science background preferred

  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of manufacturing and R&D processes

  • Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, sketches, and digital files

  • Strong project management experience

  • Proven success leading and influencing project teams to achieve on time product delivery, Performance, design, profitability, manufacturability in a fast pace cross matrix team environment.

  • Ability to develop, test, and refine manufacturing tools through CAD software to engineer high performance footwear textiles to solve product brief requirement.

  • Experience in creating engineering documentation such as to process flow charts, quality guideline and footwear pattern files to communicate project work to offshore teams for development and manufacturing.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to travel up to 20% per year, both domestically and internationally
