The Medical Devices and Health Technologies program develops and advances high-impact, innovative medical devices and technologies to improve the health of families living in low-resource communities. Our end-to-end product development process mobilizes multisector partnerships to accelerate access to sustainable health products and solutions.
The Delivery and Packaging Technologies team is currently seeking a temporary Laboratory Research Associate. This position is expected to start September 9, 2024 and end March 9, 2025 with the possibility of extension beyond that period. This is an onsite position in our offices in Seattle with some flexibility.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct laboratory experiments to aid in the development and testing of pharmaceutical formulations containing small molecules, proteins, and hormones
- Run HPLC analysis on drug substances for drug quantification and stability testing
- Conduct testing of novel delivery devices containing pharmaceutical formulations following standard operating procedures
- Record and maintain results in an electronic laboratory notebook
- Analyze data and provide results to team at regular intervals
- Present results at team meetings
Required Skills and Experience:
- Advanced degree (MS or Ph.D.) in biological sciences, bioengineering, or chemistry, with a minimum of 3 years laboratory experience in research/pharmaceutical industry
- Experience in preparing drug formulations, rotor-stator mixing, complex mixed solutions, buffers
- Experience with methods primarily for drug/protein quantification in pharmaceutical preparations using HPLC, protein assays
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to capture experimental design in a detailed and clear fashion
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S
- Flexibility and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
The hourly range for this temporary role in the U.S. is $52.50–$59.78. The final salary is based on a variety of objective factors. This is a non-benefitted position.
