About the role
Schrödinger, a technology leader specializing in software solutions for life science and materials science research and development, seeks an experienced scientist with a passion for the analysis, optimization, and discovery of molecular materials systems using quantum mechanical simulations.
As a member of our materials science Applications Science team, you'll gain high proficiency with Schrödinger simulation software and apply it to critical technology areas in the materials science industry, including organic electronics, catalysis, energy storage, semiconductors, aerospace, automotive, and specialty chemicals. - Provide scientific support to current and prospective materials science customers, which includes demonstrating the optimal use of our software suites, facilitating interactions between customers and product development teams, and providing general scientific guidance
- Evangelize to internal groups and external partners on the application and impact of Schrödinger quantum chemistry simulation tools for the analysis and optimization of reactive molecular materials systems
- Represent the company in the scientific community as a quantum chemistry and atomistic-scale modeling expert through conference presentations and peer-reviewed scientific publications
- As needed, identify, define, and execute modeling service projects related to quantum mechanical modeling and simulation of materials systems
What you should have:
- A PhD in Computational Chemistry, Quantum Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related scientific discipline
- A solid understanding of the industrial process of applying and managing atomistic-scale modeling and simulation techniques
- Multiyear experience using quantum mechanics to study molecular materials systems and chemical reactions
- Experience in Python programming and/or machine learning is a plus
