The UX Research (UXR) Team leads critical research efforts at Smartsheet. Our goal is to empower our Product Design partners with the insights they need to make well-informed design decisions. We also use our insights and perspective to support cross-functional product development and alignment. This is a full-time remote internship based in the USA. You will report to a Smartsheet Manager for 10-12 weeks over the summer months. The rate of pay for this role is $30.00 hourly.

You Will:

  • With support from your manager, lead at least one research project in a product area from end to end.
  • Support everyday research activities such as writing research plans, recruiting participants, running sessions, note-taking, and data analysis.
  • Present research findings to the product team and key stakeholders including UX designers, product managers, and engineers.
  • Learn about the tools and applications UX researchers use.

You Have:

  • Familiarity with UX research methodologies such as usability testing, interview and surveys.
  • The qualities of a self-motivated, detail-oriented team player.
  • Curiosity about the world of design and product.
  • Compelling communication and presentation skills.
  • You are pursuing or have completed an undergraduate or graduate degree in Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Journalism, Anthropology, Communication, Design, and/or have relevant project experience (e.g. academic research, coursework, past experience, volunteer, personal projects, or equivalent). 
  • Can provide a sample UX research project, such as a study, heuristic review, or similar. This may be from professional, academic, or volunteer work.
  • Pacific or Central working time zones preferred.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the US on an ongoing basis.
