The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Data Scientist specializing in AI/ML and Large Language Models (LLMs) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing and deploying advanced AI/ML models, with a particular focus on LLMs, in enterprise or government environments. This role requires a strong background in machine learning, natural language processing, and cybersecurity compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, fine-tune, and deploy AI/ML models, with a focus on Large Language Models (LLMs) such as GPT, LLaMA, or Claude
- Design and implement NLP and generative AI solutions for complex enterprise or government projects
- Build end-to-end machine learning pipelines, including data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, and deployment
- Integrate AI/ML models into secure or cloud-hosted environments (AWS, Azure, etc.)
- Work with vector databases and develop retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines
- Ensure AI/ML solutions comply with RMF, STIGs, and DoD cybersecurity standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement AI/ML opportunities
- Stay current with the latest advancements in AI/ML and LLM technologies
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data scientists
- Create comprehensive documentation for AI/ML models and processes
Qualifications:
Required:
- Active DoD Security Clearance (Secret or higher) must be obtainable
- Must be willing to work on site in Norco, CA
- Current CompTIA Security+ (CE) certification
- 5+ years of experience developing and deploying AI/ML models in enterprise or government environments
- Hands-on experience fine-tuning and applying LLMs for NLP and generative tasks
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Proficiency with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn
- Proven experience in data analytics, feature engineering, and building end-to-end ML pipelines
- Familiarity with vector databases and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines
- Experience integrating AI/ML models into secure or cloud-hosted environments
- Knowledge of RMF, STIGs, and DoD cybersecurity compliance practices
- Excellent documentation, collaboration, and communication skills
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field (preferred)
