Description
Bryn Mawr College has an opening for an Associate Director of Admissions / Coordinator of International Recruitment.
Position Objective:
Reporting directly to the Senior Associate Director of Admissions, the Associate Director of Admissions/Coordinator of international Recruitment provides strategic and tactical support in the development, implementation and assessment of outreach and recruitment efforts contributing to the enrollment of academically talented and culturally, ethnically, economically, geographically, religiously, and socially diverse undergraduate students.
Position Responsibilities:
Manage an international recruitment territory that would include but not be limited to extensive recruitment travel (approximately 4-8 weeks yearly); interview prospective students; develop and maintain productive working relationships with key international stakeholders; provide admissions counseling for prospective international students and their families; and review applications. Additionally, the Associate Director of Admissions/Coordinator of International Recruitment will:
- Identify international recruitment needs and contribute to the development of a comprehensive and strategic international outreach plan consisting of travel coordination, communications, and application assessment
- In collaboration with the Senior Associate Director of Admissions, provide annual reading and recruitment training for Admissions Officers in the execution of the international outreach plan while providing colleagues with up-to-date regional trends, resources and issues related to the international community.
- As needed, represent the Office of Admission campus wide committees, offices, partnerships, and organizations related to international student recruitment and retention.
- Participate in professional development associations committed to international recruitment and present at international conferences when possible.
- Maintain accurate records related to all programmatic area and territory management activities.
- Recommend, plan, execute, and assess international (and some domestic, pending office needs) recruitment travel activities, including workshops, virtual and in-person presentations, interview evenings, case studies, fairs, and high school visits.
- Serve as Admissions Counselor on duty to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Supervise newer Admissions staff.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree in Higher Education or related field preferred.
- A minimum of five years of admissions experience or combination of equivalent admissions and/or international student services/travel experience, with such work showing a progression of broader and more complex job responsibilities and accomplishments.
- Knowledge about international secondary school curricula required. Must be committed to and able to articulate the values associated with a liberal arts institution for women and shows enthusiasm and a strong commitment to recruiting and enrolling a diverse college-bound student body.
- A valid driver’s license and passport/ability to travel overseas
Additionally, the candidate must have:
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as group presentation skills.
- A proven ability to work with diverse constituencies, including international constituents .
- A high level of professionalism and experience with/the desire to coach and develop newer staff.
