The Job:
As an Environmental Specialist, you’ll be part of our Allentown, PA team working as an onsite employee. You’ll get to:
- Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal, environmental regulations, and keep abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
- Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of environmental programs related to air quality, hazardous waste, stormwater, and wastewater that meet regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.
- Collect, analyze and report environmental data, including air emissions, stormwater and wastewater samples. Submit energy, water and waste data into the company’s database.
- Prepare and submit required regulatory reports, including Air, EPCRA, Water, and Waste reports.
- Maintain compliance with environmental permits and submit new/renewal applications, as appropriate.
- Support hazardous waste management activities, including waste characterization, storage, labeling, and disposal in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Support stormwater, SPCC, and wastewater treatment programs, maintaining and implementing corresponding plans, inspections and documentation.
- Facilitate environmental training, lead initiatives to reduce waste and improve resource efficiency, and monitor environmental performance and report on progress.
- Conduct environmental inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements. Complete root cause analyses and corrective implementation planning to address any deficiencies/opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in implementation and continual improvement of the ISO14001 Environmental Management System (EMS).
- Maintain accurate and updated documentation for the EHS department to include inventory lists, chemical lists, inspection lists, audits, training records and ISO documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement environmental initiatives.

- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in any environmental or sustainability management preferred
- 3 years environmental management and compliance experience.
- Experience with environmental assessments and sustainability initiatives
- Knowledge of Federal, State and Local environmental regulations, including RCRA, EPCRA, CAA, CWA, and SPCC
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001 standards. Internal auditor preferred.
