Hybrid – Salt Lake City, UTJob Description: Are you ready to lead a rapidly growing business in a hyper-growth environment? As the General Manager for our Missile Business Unit, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the future of our business and drive significant impact. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Defense Division, you will be at the helm of a rapidly growing business, steering it on an exciting, upward trajectory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Lead both strategic business initiatives and a dynamic global team. Foster an environment where Moog employees are eager to contribute, and customers are excited to engage in long term business relationships. Provide leadership and oversite for two sites including Operations, Engineering, Program Management, Business Development, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing Operations.
- Business Unit Accountabilities: Oversee the business unit P&L, ensuring overall financial performance, on-time delivery, quality, and safety.
- Financial Acumen: Ensure the business unit meets its financial targets, supporting the wider Defense Division and Space & Defense Group financial targets. Provide direction for business development and capture, including recurring and new business pricing and contract negotiation outcomes.
- Customer Relationships: Proactively engage in the development of strategic customer relationships, both existing and maturing, working closely with the Mega-Pursuit Director to accomplish this.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and lead strategic plans for the Missiles Business Unit, ensuring alignment and coordination with the Defense Division, other Defense Business Units and functional leaders.
- Engagement and Collaboration: Work closely with customers and colleagues globally to lead a dynamic and growing business. Actively engage with all shared services designed to support your business, leveraging recommendations, and ensuring they understand the needs of your business.
- Divisional Leadership: Actively share in leadership, strategic decision-making, and management of the Space and Defense Group (SDG) Defense Division. Communicate and promote the Missile business, SDG, and Company Strategies.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a Business or Technical discipline (MBA is desirable).
- Experience: 10+ years of leadership experience in the manufacturing industry, with 5+ years in a strategic leadership role that includes leading people and strategy.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in the Space, Defense, or Aerospace industry. Connectivity to the missiles buying command is strongly desired.

Salary Range Transparency:
Salt Lake City, UT $230,000.00–$270,000.00 AnnuallySalary Range Disclaimer
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
