Cyber Risk & Analysis Senior Manager - Enterprise Product and Experience

We are growing! The Enterprise Services Business Risk Office provides risk management support to several lines of business including: Tech, Enterprise Product & Experience, Brand, Enterprise Supplier Management, Capital One Ventures, External Affairs, and Capital One Software (C1S). As the risk team for Enterprise Product and Experience (EPX), we are on the cutting edge of risk management and provide support for new and emerging technologies as well as critical business strategies. Capital One has taken a bold journey to build a technology company, while operating in a complex, highly regulated business. 

This role supports Capital One Enterprise Product and Experience (EPX). This group is responsible for some of Capital One’s most impactful and strategic work including the Capital One mobile app, enterprise identity services, all our associate tools (eg slack, zoom, etc) and much more.  The team is always thinking about game changing products and experiences to benefit the company, and as their risk partner- you are a central player in all the excitement. 

As a Senior Manager Risk Guide Leader supporting EPX, you will partner with colleagues across product, design, tech and other risk teams to deliver results that have a direct impact on internal and external customer experience and implement risk solutions to ensure Capital One’s continued stability and success. Responsibilities require partnering with a broad set of leaders and stakeholders to identify existing and potential emerging risks in an open, collaborative environment where new ideas and solutions are both welcomed and rewarded.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of process management strategies, risk methodologies and ability to build relationships with business and risk partners. The ability to think from a ‘customer back’ perspective is also critical. Leaders in risk management at Capital One are highly motivated professionals with excellent organizational, leadership and communication skills. They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and the opportunity to work with Executives to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to Capital One. 


Responsibilities:

  • Partner with EPX and leverage a trusted advisor model to support business initiatives, issue management, process improvement, control testing and related risk assessment activities

  • Develop a deep understanding of business strategies, products, services, and risk profile 

  • Implement process improvements: process certification framework, process hierarchy change management, change control, and risk reporting 

  • Oversee, review and manage Enterprise process hierarchy (L1/L2 processes) 

  • Ensure independent escalation of risk management gaps, issues, and concerns, including emerging risks and regulatory focus areas

  • Consult on Risks across the first line of defense business partners providing advice and guidance as needed

  • Participate in processes criticality assessments and process level assessments 

  • Manage multiple tasks independently to meet deadlines

  • Communicate complex ideas concisely and convincingly, adjust communication to the audience and comfortable with presenting to executive leadership.  

  • Collaborative, values diverse perspectives and seeks insights from others. Brings energy to the group and rallies them around a common goal.  

Basic Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • At least 5 years of experience in Risk Management

  • At least 5 years of experience supporting internal business clients

  • At least 5 years of experience in project, process, or program management

  • At least 5 years experience working with cross functional teams of all levels

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

  • 6+ years experience in Risk Management

  • 6+ years of experience in Change or Process Management

  • Risk Certifications (CRCM, CAMS, CIPP, ABA Risk Management Certification)

  • Business Process Management certification, Lean or Green Belt Certification
