Registered Nurse (1708)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  

Assists supervisor in assuring staff performs tasks pertinent to age of patient (infancy to geriatric). 

Maintains accurate inventory of medical supplies; assists in the selection of division equipment and supplies. 

Assists supervisor in assuring staff ability to perform nursing procedures as directed by the clinician according to the guidelines in the Nursing Procedure Manual. 

Assists supervisor in assuring quality assurance and control.

Management skills 

Should have experience with or knowledge of medical office systems, supplies and equipment. 

Experience in emergency room and community nursing preferred. 

Demonstrates clinical competence 

Participates in the continuing educational process, and is responsible for overseeing in service opportunities for nursing staff. 

Assures the efficient flow of patients, especially through assuming triage responsibilities on a day to day basis 

Assumes responsibility for ER situations until supervisor or MD arrives. 

Attends work as scheduled. 

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:  

Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nurses. 

Licensed by the Virginia State Board of Nursing. 

At least 2 years of general patient care experience as a Registered Nurse, preferred. 

Current CPR certification, preferred.
