OnsiteThe Level II Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring product integrity and safety by independently conducting inspections using advanced NDT techniques. This position focuses on detecting corrosion, defects, and other detrimental conditions in strict accordance with technical data and company standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Expert Analysis: Perform thorough inspections, accurately interpret findings, and report results with precision.
- Process Ownership: Effectively communicate procedures, inspection results, and technical insights to ensure compliance and quality control.
- Operational Expertise: Demonstrate familiarity with shop equipment, applying sound judgment in evaluation and decision-making.
This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong technical acumen and the ability to uphold the highest quality and safety standards.
What You Will Do:
- Performs non-nondestructive inspection (NDI) based on qualifications
- Performs cleaning and inspection of aircraft components according to customers specifications.
- Identifies structural and material defects
- Interprets test results
- Completes test reports, and presents findings
- Maintains NDT equipment
- Maintains proper segregation and identification of components in progress.
- Completes all required documentation in accordance with established procedures.
- Engages and supports the organization's Continuous Improvement activities.
Qualifications We Require:
- Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
- Demonstrate a continued interest in good housekeeping and safety practices.
- Demonstrate ability to work under a minimal amount of direction for the area supervisor/team coordinator.
- Be proficient in handling all of the equipment that is applicable to completing the required job.
- Demonstrate an ability to effectively cooperate and communicate with co-workers and personnel in other departments.
- Capable of interpreting and understanding part drawings and illustrated planning.
- Must be able to following work instructions to ensure the proper processing of parts.
- Must have some basic computer skills.
- Must be able properly wear and use Personal Protective Equipment relating to the job performed.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Able to set up and calibrating testing equipment, conducting material tests, interpreting results, and generating reports on your findings
- Prior experience in Aerospace
- Able to write descriptive statements about noted conditions while performing inspections.
