We’re working a minimum of 4 days a week onsite as part of our commitment to fostering a culture of professional growth and cross-functional collaboration as we work together to engineer the extraordinary.The Senior Electrical Engineer will be an individual contributor within the Medtronic Cardiac Rhythm Management Electrical System Design Team. The individual will be involved in all phases of product development including definition, design, troubleshooting, characterization, and verification of implantable pulse generators (pacemakers), implantable cardioverter defibrillators, and implantable diagnostic devices as well as external patient communicators, programmers, and monitors. The individual will be an integral part of the R&D organization delivering the highest quality, lifesaving technology to our patients.
The position is in Mounds View, MN (Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area).
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
Provide electrical engineering skills to design, develop, analyze, and debug new product designs including analog and digital circuitry
Integrate electronics, firmware, and mechanical designs into final product
Develop production test requirements and support development of manufacturing test applications
Support manufacturing sites including PCB and Device assembly
Develop test procedures to evaluate, characterize, and verify new electrical and product designs.
Interpret and decompose system and product requirements, verify compliance.
Develop test environments including automation and emulation
Validation of test environments including method validation and non-product software validation
Mentor junior level engineers
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
Preferred Skills:
Demonstrated technical leadership ability
Strong background in PCB design methodology including CAD tools and manufacturing processes
Circuit simulation in tools such as PSPICE or LTSPICE
Ability to evaluate and debug electrical designs including RF performance
Experience with design, verification, and validation of Class III medical devices or similar regulated product
Experience modeling in MATLAB , C/C++, LabVIEW and/or Python scripting
Familiarity with ISO 14708 and/or IEC 60601
Strong oral and written communication skills
