Description

Position Summary

The BCBA/LBA is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing behavior intervention and skill acquisition programs for individuals receiving Community Living services. This position ensures Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services are evidence-based, person-centered, and compliant with BACB standards, Missouri licensure requirements, and BHA policies.

Working within a residential setting, the BCBA/LBA provides clinical leadership by training, coaching, and supervising staff to ensure behavior support plans are implemented consistently across all environments and shifts. This role collaborates closely with Operations, Nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to improve safety, independence, and quality of life for the individuals served.


Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or related field 
  • Current BCBA certification required 
  • Active Missouri and/or Kansas LBA license (as applicable) 
  • Completion of BACB supervision training 
  • Minimum two (2) years of ABA experience; residential or intensive behavioral services preferred 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of ABA principles, functional behavior assessments (FBAs), behavior support plans (BSPs), and skill acquisition programming 
  • Experience supervising and coaching RBTs and direct care staff 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to analyze behavioral data and make data-driven clinical decisions 
  • Knowledge of BACB Ethics Code and applicable state regulations 
  • Ability to remain calm and lead effectively during crisis situations 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems 
  • Valid driver's license meeting company transportation requirements

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Clinical Services

  • Conduct FBAs and develop individualized BSPs and skill acquisition programs. 
  • Monitor client progress, analyze behavioral data, and modify programming as needed. 
  • Ensure interventions are evidence-based, person-centered, and implemented using least restrictive practices. 
  • Participate in crisis planning and behavioral consultation. 

Staff Training & Supervision

  • Train, coach, and supervise RBTs, Behavior Specialists, and Direct Support Professionals. 
  • Conduct competency assessments, fidelity observations, and ongoing performance coaching. 
  • Provide BACB-required supervision and maintain required documentation. 
  • Promote consistent implementation of behavior plans across all staff and shifts. 

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with BACB ethics, state licensure regulations, Medicaid requirements, and BHA policies. 
  • Maintain accurate documentation, data collection, and clinical records. 
  • Review behavioral outcomes, identify trends, and implement quality improvements. 
  • Participate in incident reviews, audits, and interdisciplinary meetings. 

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Partner with Operations, Nursing, and other clinical teams to coordinate services. 
  • Provide clinical guidance during behavioral crises and participate in the on-call rotation. 
  • Support organizational initiatives, staff development, and continuous improvement efforts. 

Accountability

The BCBA/LBA is accountable for the quality and effectiveness of behavioral services within Community Living. This includes ensuring:

  • Behavior support plans are individualized and clinically appropriate. 
  • Staff receive effective training and implement programming with fidelity. 
  • Clinical decisions are data-driven and documented accurately. 
  • Behavioral supports remain consistent across settings. 
  • Individuals demonstrate measurable progress toward identified goals. 

Other Duties

  • Complete required documentation, reporting, and billing in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards. 
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and organizational initiatives. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
