About the role

Copper River Shared Services is looking for a Director of Project Finance responsible for overseeing and managing the financial aspects of various projects across the Copper River Family of Companies.  This is a very exciting opportunity to build out a new organization within the Copper River Family of Companies with the long-term potential of expanding the team to include indirect cost budgeting and forecasting. This is a new group at Copper River and will be a high value-add and high visibility position.  This role will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and is in Chantilly, VA with option to be remote/hybrid.   

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Partner with Accounting, Contracts and Operations to set-up and maintain all projects and project modifications in Costpoint.  Oversee Costpoint kick-off meetings and discussions concerning project structure and reporting needs.
  • Partner with Accounting and Contracts departments within CR Shared Services, and with the Operating Company Leaders to create and maintain rolling 12–18-month project level, individual company level, and consolidated/multi-company revenue and margin forecasts.     
  • Partner with Accounting and Contracts departments within CR Shared Services, and with the Operating Company Leaders to create and maintain Revenue Backlog reports.
  • Prepare and update Estimate at Completion analyses monthly, and partner with accounting team on monthly revenue recognition.
  • Prepare monthly revenue and net margin variance reporting and analysis at the project and company level; provide analysis to CFO, Operating Company Presidents, and Program Managers.
  • Act as right hand to Program Managers and Operating Company Leaders, by ensuring timeliness of monthly revenue and margin reporting; financial reports, access and training (timesheet reporting, utilization, backlog, budget to actual, etc.); and assisting with quarterly reporting requirements (i.e. for board meetings, program reviews, company level reviews, etc.).
  • Oversee and conduct monthly PMR reviews with Operating Company Leaders and Program Managers to identify variance driver and corrective actions.
  • Oversee Pricing function for certain types of solicitations.
  • Oversight and administration of the Sales Commission process.
  • Establish consistent communication of labor utilization reports to key stakeholders.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of government contracting and program financial experience, including long range forecasting, tracking revenue and costs to budget, execution to schedule, oversight of monthly PMR reports.
  • 5+ years of experience leading a Project Finance team.
  • Revenue recognition SME, for all contract types (FFP, CPFF, T&M, etc.)
  • Oversee month end revenue validation and recognition process.
  • Coordinate with Accounting in areas where there is cross-over, such as unbilled analysis and contract closeout efforts.
  • Coordinate with Contracts and Operations in Project-setup and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of FAR, CAS, and DCAA audit and reporting methods.
  • At least 5 years of Deltek Costpoint experience required, in areas of Projects, Project-Setup, Project Reporting and Revenue recognition.
  • ANC/Tribal experience and/or multi-company experience preferred.
  • Forecasting/Reporting automation tools (TM1, Hyperion, etc.)
  • Understanding of CUI, DFARS, CMMC compliance.
