This position will be located in Palmdale, CA, supporting the Palmdale Aircraft Integration Center of Excellence (PAICoE) organization.
The selected candidate will be responsible for analyzing, researching, and developing materials and their related application processes for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems.
The candidate will apply principles of chemistry, physics, and material science to investigate material issues and provide solutions.
The candidate will work in a team environment with other engineering organization performing detailed technical reviews of drawings, specifications and manufacturing plans.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 8 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 4 years of related engineering experience.
Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
Familiar with composite wet-layups, pre-pregs, vacuum bagging, OOA/Oven/ Autoclave), honeycombs, and adhesive materials; Composite part fabrication, assembly, and repair processes for aircraft composite and metallic structures.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with working on military aircraft.
Hands on composite fabrication and repair.
Experience preparing and presenting oral and written reports
