Retail and Rental Associate - Edgewater Beach

The Retail & Rental Associate assists in store and equipment rental operations and conducts sales of Cleveland Metroparks merchandise, products, and services. The Retail and Rental Associate serves the public with integrity to effectively and efficiently assist customers and represent the Park District in a professional manner.

1. Meets customer needs by selling merchandise and/or renting equipment. Provides quality customer service and ensures accurate point of sale transactions.
2. Accurately performs store opening and closing procedures.
3. Assists with merchandise display and replenishment of inventory.
4. Adheres to Cleveland Metroparks Accounting Manual which provides policies and procedures for money/funds handling and deposits.
5. Performs general housekeeping duties including but not limited to dusting, mopping, and maintaining a clean store.
6. Keeps manager informed of financial, customer and informational needs, i.e. inventory, sales or customer concerns/complaints.
7. Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concerns.
8. Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain a safe work environment and surrounding area for oneself, co-workers and public. Responds to hazardous situations and/or potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action as capable and promptly notifying supervisory personnel.
9. Performs related duties as assigned or apparent.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in retail and equipment rentals preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license under the laws of the State of Ohio.
  
• Demonstrated experience with computers and/or point of sale equipment
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including employees and the general public.
• Ability to speak and write clearly, concisely and persuasively using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation with ability to communicate one-on-one or in group settings.
• Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and organization.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to perform with considerable independence and initiative.

Work Schedule:  Must be available to work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekend and holidays.
