What you will be doing

The Manager, LOA & Benefits serves as a functional knowledge resource to Tier 2 Specialists focused on Leave of Absence, Paid Family Leave, and Benefits Administration. This role serves as the first line of escalation for the Tier 2 Specialists and also serve as a Tier 2 Specialist when case load requires. Also, this role provides training, guidance and daily support of the Tier 2 Specialists while managing inquiries, requests, and complex cases to closure.

1. Manages, advises and counsels a team of Tier 2 Specialists focused on Leave of Absence, Paid Family Leave, Family Medical Leave and Benefits Administration while reinforcing and supporting a cooperative team environment.
2. Resolves complex customer problems in Tier 2 HR areas by researching issues and taking additional steps as required. Provides escalation support or routes/refers calls for advanced support and provides follow-up as required.
3. Provides program input and recommendations to HRSS and COE Managers/Leaders (e.g., Open Enrollment, Vendor Feeds, Process/Policy Changes).
4. Partner with Third Party Vendors to identify and streamline processes for workflow efficiencies.
5. Ensure all Leaves of Absence, FMLA, and Intermittent FMLA claims are handled in accordance with Cencora policy and Federal and State statutes.
6. Partner with the legal department to ensure internal processes are handled in accordance with legal statutes.
7. Work with Third Party Vendor to ensure disability calculations are correct.
8. Ensure LOA coordinators audit third-party disability payment feeds and payroll loads for accuracy.
9. Oversee the administration of Cencora Paid Family Leave program and ensure payment calculations are made in accordance with Cencora policies and state programs.
10. Provides oversight for quality assurance for Tier 2 activities, including call and case monitoring.
11. Maintains updated processes and procedures for the respective area including knowledge base documents; assists in identifying issues for associate and manager communication and education.
12. Periodically review department workflows to identify and correct inefficiencies.
13. Ensures team performs required regulatory and compliance reporting.
14. Performs other duties and “Key Activities” as required.

What your background should look like 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires broad training in fields such as human resources, business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year Bachelor's Degree Program or equivalent combination of experience and education. SPHR/PHR Preferred. Normally requires minimum five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience in similar organization. Experience in a human resources shared services environment preferred.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

1. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

3. Working knowledge of retail merchandising and/or procurement (purchasing)
4. Ability to create and manage budgets and expenses
5. Strong interpersonal skills

8. Strong negotiating skills
9. Thorough knowledge of Cencora policies and procedures
10. Strong computer skills in order to operate effectively with company systems and programs; knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
