Job Description
The School of Professional Studies M.S. in Technology Management program is seeking industry professionals with experience driving enhanced organizational performance through the use of technology, to serve as part-time Lecturers for an in-person course in Strategic Advocacy.
Some of the topics that will be covered in the Strategic Advocacy course are the political economy of exercising executive influence, expert and strategic mindsets, strategic learning, and planning and mapping the political territory.
Students will build a good foundation for understanding strategic advocacy, strategic learning and thinking as applied to organizations, and individual action for initiating strategically focused technology-related business conversations within these institutional settings. Students will learn models for understanding how strategy emerges through processes of individual, group and organizational learning. Students will also develop capacity for strategically addressing organizational and societal challenges marked by the complexity being driven and intensified by technology.porting and communicating findings.
Responsibilities
● Lead class lectures, instructional activities, and classroom discussion.
● Evaluate, grade student work and assessments.
● Monitor and address student concerns and inquiries.
● Conduct weekly office hours.
Qualifications
Columbia University SPS operates under a scholar-practitioner faculty model, which enables students to learn from faculty that have outstanding academic training as well as a record of accomplishment as practitioners in an applied industry setting.
Requirements
- Graduate degree in an area related to organization & leadership, management, social-organizational psychology or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in a role involving management and leadership.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Doctoral degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
- University teaching experience.
Additional Information
Salary: $12,360 per semester-length course teaching
