We are seeking a skilled and motivated Service Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to our continued success.
As a Service Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing field service and support for our DP installations on vessels. Your primary responsibilities will include troubleshooting, system installation, commissioning, and delivering exceptional onboard service. This position requires travel to client sites, both domestically and internationally, comprising approximately 60% of your working time.
This is a permanent opportunity, and the preferred locations are Singapore, China and Korea. Other locations will be considered within USA.
What will you be doing:
As Field Service Engineer, DP and Automation, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Execute field and workshop assignments related to Wärtsilä Dynamic Positioning control systems for Voyage, ensuring efficient and high-quality service delivery.
- Provide remote support and guidance to other departments within the organization, contributing to collaborative problem-solving.
- Review and address open help desk tickets and tasks, offering timely support to resolve reported issues.
- Foster positive interactions with customers to ensure their satisfaction with job performance and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Maintain detailed records of customer support activities, contributing to accurate documentation and efficient workflow.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and implement process improvements, driving excellence in your specific tasks.
- Adhere to Wärtsilä's Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines to ensure a safe and responsible working environment.
- Perform any additional duties as required to support the team and meet organizational objectives.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- Associates of Science Degree in Control and Instrumentation or 2 years or experience in related field
- Experience with installation operation, maintenance, and repair of navigation control systems
- Computer skills (MS Office)
- Experience with industry standard equipment (Position Reference, Environmental, I\O)
- Control system understanding and knowledge
- Experience on programming languages for various PLC and HMI.
- Strong ability to follow directions and work under pressure
- Fluent in written and spoken English
