Position Description
This position is contingent upon contract award. SOC, a Day & Zimmermann company, is currently identifying qualified candidates in anticipation of a forthcoming contract opportunity. Employment offers will be extended only if and when the contract is officially awarded to SOC.
We are looking for a full time, Director, Ammunition Logistics & Demil Operations to join our SOC Team!
Our Director of Ammunition Logistics & Demil Operations is directly responsible for Ammunition and Demil Directorate, including resource recovery/recycling (R-3) of conventional munitions and explosives, base operations, environment, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD/OB/OD), maintenance/renovation activities, engineering/planning inventory management and accountability. Conducts those activities through subordinate Managers. Ensure compliance with Corporate, State and Federal guidelines pertaining to the responsibilities of the position.
As Director, Ammunition Logistics & Demil Operations, here's the work you will do:
- Plan, direct, and oversee operations at SOC Nevada, LLC, ensuring compliance with all contractual requirements for the Ammunition and Demil Directorate.
- Manage all assigned and allocated resources to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Maintain full budget responsibility (P&L) for the Ammunition and Demil Directorate, including both direct and indirect costs.
- Execute orders and directives from the General Manager in alignment with organizational goals.
- Lead strategic planning and long-term mapping of all munitions and support services activities.
- Provide oversight, mentorship, and leadership while supporting the Defense Industry Initiative on Ethics, as well as succession planning and diversity programs.
- Ensure safety, security, and environmental stewardship across all operations, promptly reporting potential or actual environmental and safety concerns.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including tasks at the same or lower level of difficulty, and occasionally at a higher level.
- Uphold the highest ethical standards by modeling company values, adhering to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct, and fostering a culture of fairness and respect for all individuals.
This role is for you if you have these skills:
- In-depth knowledge of federal, military, state, and local regulations governing SOC Nevada functions and operations at the Hawthorne Army Depot.
- Strong understanding of contractual requirements and compliance obligations for both SOC and Hawthorne Army Depot operations.
- Proven ability to manage resources effectively and efficiently across all areas of Operations.
- Full budget management experience (P&L) for both direct and indirect costs.
- Skilled in strategic planning and mapping of munitions and support services activities.
- Familiar with the principles of the Defense Industry Initiative (Ethics), as well as succession planning and diversity programs.
- Demonstrated leadership at the Director level, including the ability to delegate effectively.
And these qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; B.S./B.A. in a technical discipline or management-related field required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in military and/or munitions-related operations, including 2–5 years in an executive management role; government contracting experience preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all certifications as outlined in SOC’s Master Training Plan.
- Must hold and maintain a valid State of Nevada driver’s license.
