Position Specific Description

Position Overview: NextEra Energy, a leading renewable energy company, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior PV Solar Field Technician to join our dynamic team at McCoy Solar located near Blythe, California. In this role, you will be responsible for performing advanced technical tasks related to the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of photovoltaic (PV) solar systems. As a Senior PV Solar Field Technician, you will utilize your extensive knowledge and expertise to ensure the optimal performance and efficiency of solar facilities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct advanced inspections, testing, and maintenance of PV solar systems, adhering to industry standards and safety protocols.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair activities to identify and resolve issues with solar panels, inverters, mounting systems, electrical components, and other related equipment.
  • Develop and execute detailed maintenance and repair plans for PV solar projects, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum energy production.
  • Conduct thorough site assessments, including shading analysis, solar resource assessment, and system design parameters, to optimize system performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and field technicians, to ensure effective planning, execution, and completion of solar projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior field technicians, assisting in their professional development and enhancing overall team performance.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to PV solar systems and renewable energy, and effectively apply them to improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of all maintenance, repairs, inspections, and other activities performed on PV solar systems.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulatory requirements, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and your team.

Job Overview

The Site Technician will support the Regional Manager or designee to ensure the perfect execution of the PGD processes. Site Technicians in a solar region perform duties in the following but are not limited to safety, contractor management, electrical/electronic/mechanical equipment operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance, overall site operations, asset management and regulatory compliance, reliability engineering, and inventory management.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Experience: 3+ years
  • Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trade School Graduate
  • Licensed Electrician
  • Licensed Master Electrician
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified

 

The estimated base pay for this position is $70,400.00 to $105,600.00 per year. Starting pay will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, experience, qualifications, job-related and industry knowledge and skills and education/training.
