Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital, Department of Neurology, has a full-time opening for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our outpatient General Neurology team. This opportunity is well suited for an APP who is looking to collaborate, learn, and grow in a supportive academic environment while providing high-quality care to patients with a variety of neurologic conditions.

We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and highly organized provider who is committed to delivering patient centered care. This is an outpatient only position.

The APP will work closely with neurologists, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team. The position will primarily involve the evaluation and ongoing management of established patients, with a smaller portion of the schedule dedicated to hospital follow up visits.

Responsibilities include obtaining comprehensive histories, performing physical and neurologic examinations, developing and implementing treatment plans, ordering and reviewing appropriate imaging and laboratory studies, managing ongoing therapies, inbox management, and providing education to patients and their families.

Based on clinical interest, training, demonstrated competency, and departmental needs, the APP may have the opportunity to become credentialed to perform outpatient procedures such as botulinum toxin injections and skin biopsies.

 The APP will have the opportunity to build clinical knowledge, procedural skills, and independent decision-making abilities through collaboration with experienced neurology physicians and advanced practice providers.

Prior experience in neurology, internal medicine, family medicine, hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or a related clinical specialty is preferred, but not required. Newly licensed Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners are encouraged to apply.

The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There are no weekend or call requirements.

APRN: Nationally certified licensed healthcare provider who provides primary and/or specialty nursing and/or medical care in a variety of healthcare settings. Functions in collaboration with a physician according to an APRN protocol and specialty certification. Practice emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic health problems.
 

PA: Nationally certified licensed healthcare provider who provides primary and/or specialty medical care (the practice of medicine) in a variety of healthcare settings. Functions within the collaboration agreement of a Physician, as per regulatory requirements. Performs complete histories and physicals on patients of all ages to establish and record patient's current health status and to develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan to provide continuing medical care, including daily examinations, writing orders, chart notes, discharging patients and completing discharge summaries. This medical care may be in a variety of clinical settings. PAs in the Hospital care role provide outpatient and/or hospital-based care to patients (more than 50% of their time) with complex, acute, and chronic health conditions. Outpatient/Hospital care PAs practice in a setting that requires the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to manage acute and chronic health problems.
