Assistant Football Coach - RB Coach/General Manager

The RB Coach/General Manager is responsible for all phases of the program including organization and administration, quality student-athlete development and recruitment, fiscal management, viable fund raising and public relations, and other duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach.
Salary & Benefits:
Minimum starting salary of $50,000, commensurate with experience.

Primary Duties:
1. Collaborate with head coach on roster management, scholarship and NIL strategies.
2. Collaborate with recruiting coordinator on talent acquisition and retention strategies.
3. Assist with development and preparation of offensive practice and game plans.
4. Provide on-field instruction to players.
5. Coach players individually and in groups, monitor academic progress, and ensure athletes meet conduct and culture standards.
6. Identify, evaluate, and recruit talented student-athletes who meet the university's academic and athletic requirements.
7. Assist with camp coordination and other program fundraising needs.
8. Ensure the program adheres to all NCAA, conference, and university rules and regulations.
9. Serve as a GVSU ambassador, engage with media, and participate in fundraising and community events.
10. Perform other duties as required/assigned by leadership.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience recruiting and coaching at the collegiate or equivalent level.
A thorough understanding of and accountability to NCAA rules and regulations.
Demonstrated commitment to the academic and athletic success of the student-athletes and NCAA compliance with the highest ethical standards.
Driving a company/university vehicle may be required. A valid driver’s license is a requirement and a MVR needs to be conducted upon hire.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience coaching running backs or offensive skills players at the collegiate or commensurate level.
Head coaching, leadership experience at the collegiate or commensurate level.
Working Conditions:
Normal office environment. Nights, weekends, and travel are required.
