About the RoleIn this role, you’ll play an important part in helping patients receive the medications they need—safely, accurately, and on time. You’ll oversee the hospital’s automated medication dispensing systems, making sure they’re well-stocked, running smoothly, and supporting our clinical teams every day.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys combining hands-on work with problem-solving and collaboration. You’ll be a key partner across departments, helping ensure medications are managed efficiently and responsibly.
Starting pay: $24.18 per hour
What You’ll Do
You’ll help keep our medication distribution systems organized, efficient, and reliable by:
Maintaining appropriate inventory levels in automated dispensing cabinets across the hospital
Monitoring medication supplies and restocking items in a timely, cost-effective way
Overseeing the daily operation of automated dispensing systems
Troubleshooting system or inventory issues and helping resolve them quickly
Partnering with pharmacy staff, nursing teams, and vendors to support smooth workflows
Supporting accurate tracking, pricing, and accountability of medication inventory
Identifying opportunities to improve processes and reduce waste

Qualifications:
Required Education and ExperienceLicense/Certification Requirement
1. National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or ExCPT from National Healthcareer Association (NHA) required.
2. Registered Pharmacy Technician with NYS Office of the Professions, State Education Department.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time pharmacy assistant or pharmacy technician experience.
NOTE:
1. Incumbents must maintain the required New York State registration and national certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) as a condition of continued employment.
2. Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.
The preferred candidate will have hospital experience, experience with automation dispensing cabinets, and experience specifically with Pyxis.
