Overview

The purpose of the Central AI organization within Atlassian is to accelerate AI innovation and development across Atlassian's products and platform. It aims to provide cohesive AI experiences and establish an Atlassian AI infrastructure for the future. The organization focuses on building horizontal AI capabilities and infrastructure that can be leveraged across various products.

Additionally, Central AI is responsible for developing centralized Search, Q&A, and Conversational AI across all Atlassian products which form the basis for Atlassian’s Rovo AI product offering, as well as exploring integration with AI products outside Atlassian

Central AI is structured around three main pillars:

1. AI Fundamentals: This pillar focuses on empowering product and platform teams with AI/ML infrastructure. It includes leveraging large language models, prompt engineering, safety and trust handling, and key features like generative AI editors and summarization.

2. Search & Conversation: This pillar aims to deliver a world-class search and conversation platform, providing semantic search and conversational AI capabilities.

3. Search Data & Ecosystem: Responsible for data crawling and ingestion, ensuring permission control, compliance, and data security.

Responsibilities

As we scale our AI-powered chat experiences for Atlassian Rovo we are looking to accelerate both the building of deep first-party (1P) agents across our products as well as enable our customers to build their own AI powered agents customised to their workflows.

Our AI agents have the potential to revolutionise how millions of users accomplish tasks daily. The impact is broad and can range from resolving customer inquiries in Jira Service Management to automatically grooming a backlog in Jira through to our more cutting edge DevAI agents that automatically write and deploy code. 1. Technical Skills:

   • Proficiency in programming languages Python and Java

   • Familiarity with conversational AI technologies

2. Experience:

   • Previous experience in developing AI applications or chatbots.

   • Experience in integrating AI solutions with existing systems and platforms.

   • Familiarity with APIs and microservices architecture to enable seamless integration of AI agents with various applications.

   • Experience with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).

3. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to design and implement AI solutions.

4. Collaboration and Communication: Excellent teamwork and communication skills to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

5. Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and adapt to new technologies and methodologies

Compensation

At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

Zone A: $239,400 - $312,550

Zone B: $216,000 - $282,000

Zone C: $198,900 - $259,675

This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
