This is a full-time position at the former McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento, California. Travel may be required for up to 10% of the time to projects within Northern California.
The AECOM Team Leader is responsible for overall supervision of environmental construction, operations and maintenance (O&M), and environmental sampling groups. The position involves planning and coordination for staffing to respond to project needs. As a staff supervisor, the Team Leader will provide structured guidance and training to develop the team’s capabilities.
Responsibilities of this position, which may vary slightly, include the following:
- Supervise AECOM’s Sacramento Field Services Group, made up of construction superintendents, foremen, and laborers, and environmental technicians involved in sampling and treatment system O&M.
- Collaborate with project teams and management in the development of strategies and plans.
- Assist Project Managers in establishing project-specific objectives and policies.
- Support and manage construction/delivery for environmental remediation projects.
- Provide technical direction and guidance to subordinate superintendents, enforce company and project policies, maintain close client interface, and work with the Project Manager to ensure all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with the design, budget, and schedule.
- Work independently but receives basic guidance from Project Managers on project assignments, objectives, complex features, and financial considerations.
- Receive technical guidance from Project Engineers on unusual or complex problems.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS - Degree in any field.
- 6 years of relevant experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional safety certifications and training (i.e., Safety-Trained Supervisor for Construction Credential (STS-C), USACE EM 385-1-1 certification, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience in remedial construction projects.
- Experience in managing environmental teams for large, complex remediation projects, including excavation/removal, impoundment/landfill operations and closure, large-scale groundwater treatment system installation and operation.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with others.
- Ability to travel region-wide – up to approximately 10% of the time.
- Current HAZWOPER and 8-hour Supe
