The Community and Regional Banking Organization unit within SRC supervises state member banks, bank holding companies, savings and loan holding companies, financial holding companies and trust companies under $100 billion in asset size primarily in the Third District, which is composed of eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and Delaware.
The Team Manager of community bank supervision lead will oversee a group of analysts and examiners responsible for monitoring emerging risks specific to banks and holding companies supervised by the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. The manager reports to and collaborates with an Assistant Vice President on the strategic direction and associated planning for the team. The manager ensures appropriate staffing levels, workflows and internal processes within the team, and establishes team and staff objectives. The manager oversees staff activities and professional development, provides coaching, and promotes Bank cultural values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. What You Will Do:
General Team Manager Responsibilities include:
- Exercises managerial authority concerning staffing, training, performance appraisals and accountability for unit personnel. Provides development opportunities, direction, and leadership to subordinates; guides the execution of their duties; reviews and evaluates work; and provides feedback and recommendations. Provides leadership and direction to professional staff members to ensure that core business responsibilities of the function are effectively discharged in accordance with the department, Bank, and System objectives, policies, procedures and quality standards.
- Applies a working knowledge of regulations, trends, and emerging developments to community banks and holding companies below $10 billion and related policy or strategic initiatives.
- Oversees analyst’s ongoing supervision and relationship management as central points of contact (CPC) for state member banks, bank holding companies, and savings and loan holding companies under $10 billion. Directs staff collaboration and support to various business lines including but not limited to the enforcement unit and mergers and acquisitions.
- With some oversight, effectively interact with senior management, Board staff, and other constituents. With some oversight, influence and motivate positive change on matters and concerns that are of low to moderate complexity. Interact with department, Bank, System/Board, and external management level stakeholders as part of business line activities.
- Provides oversight and reviews examinations/inspections for institutions below $10 billion. Ensures all conclusions and ratings reflect sound judgement and are fully supported by senior management of this Reserve Bank.
- Reviews other analyst work products such as: capital action requests; institution executive summaries, institutional overviews, quality control reviews for bank exams and holding company inspections, and other related products.
- Ensures analysts are responding timely to depository institution and holding company administrative and technical questions.
- Identifies and resolves complex issues using independent judgment in consultation with the unit officer.
