As a Temporary Ballot Tabulation Center (BTC) Adjudicator, you will facilitate the election process by reviewing a voter's intent, processing ballots, duplicating damaged ballots, and performing data entry.

We Require

This position requires a High School diploma or GED.

Other Requirements

  • Must be a registered voter, or have the ability to become a registered voter, in the State of Arizona by the time of hire
  • Must be a registered Republican or Democrat voter
  • Must pass an applicable background screening
  • Must be able to work overtime as necessary
  • Must have legible penmanship

  • One or more years of general office experience
  • One or more years of moderate computer use experience
  • One or more years of election experience
  • One or more years of customer service experience
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Job Contributions

  • Determines a voter’s intent on a bipartisan Duplication or Adjudication Board
  • Reviews ballots using proprietary election software to accurately assess a voter’s intent
  • Collaborates in teams of two, each representing different political affiliations (e.g., Republican and Democrat)
  • Ensures thorough and legible documentation throughout the tabulation procedure
  • Assists other divisions within Elections or the Recorder’s Office with daily operations and additional job duties as assigned

Working Conditions

  • Full-time/Temporary/Holidays/Overtime hours are mandatory during the election cycle
  • Requires upper extremity repetitive motion
  • Requires the ability to review small fonts on a hard copy or computer screen for an extended period of time
  • Requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • All operations will be conducted under Livestream cameras and in the presence of political observers
  • Must not engage in any political discussions

Those selected will be assessed based on the evaluation of listed education and experience.
