About the Role:

The Medical Records Associate is an integral member of Community Reach Center Quality Improvement Division. Under direct supervision of the Medical Records Supervisor, the Medical Records Associate assembles and maintains Community Reach Center and its affiliates medical records, responding to external requests for medical records, and prepares, scans, and conducts a quality review on documents to ensure that they have been accurately preserved.

 

Essential Functions: 

·         Assures  that consumer’s external Protected Health Information and other records are scanned and integrated into the consumer’s Electronic Health Record.

·         Determines  which groups, batches, and/or sheets are incorrect or may have problems; corrects errors and/or problem solves with supervisor to correct issues.

·         Responsible  for notifying consumer’s providers of receipt of external documentation when appropriate. 

·         Requests  records for consumers of Community Reach Center and its affiliates when appropriate.

·         Using  relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, and/or standards.

 

Other Functions:

 

Performs other such duties as assigned within the scope of the position and program description, as well as those reflective of their experience, education, and ability.

 

Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of the flow of medical records and the meaning of each form within a medical record.
• Communication, organization, time management.
• Working knowledge of computer systems to include Windows based applications, as well as Electronic Health Record systems
• Bilingual English / Spanish preferred
• Experience with scanning equipment and related software preferred
• Familiarity with Federal and State laws, regulations, and standards regarding Protected Health Information preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent.

3+ months experience and / or training in maintaining medical records.

Schedule: 

M-F 8-5

Salary Information:

$24.04-$25.54/hr

Eligible for Bilingual Stipend of $250/Month
