We’re seeking a Senior Loss Control Consultant who will provide risk control expertise and services within a Managed General Agency (MGA) insurance company. The focus of our MGA is centered around captive insurance programs for the construction industry. Additional areas of responsibility are to provide risk control services to a heterogenous captive group. This position has the responsibility of evaluating, developing, coordinating and implementing risk control service programs to support the successful growth of our captive programs and to support the UW and Claims functions within our MGA.

Your Impact:
Develop relationships with clients and assist in establishing, implementing, and completing long-term risk control/risk management goals.
Manage and coordinate Risk control services between our clients, their broker partners and the existing risk control team members seeking to maximize risk control services customized to meet the clients’ and their captive groups specific needs.
Organize joint efforts of our clients, their brokers’ loss control departments and the captive groups to analyze, implement and improve issues centered around Worker’s Compensation (WC) issues, safety, fleet. General Liability and some property
Establish, create, and manage aspects of the management of the MGA’s risk control group.
Conduct, coordinate and/or participate in periodic claim reviews as requested.
Conduct comprehensive assessments of potential risks and overall safety at facilities, job sites or projects, as necessary.
Maintain current knowledge and information relating to new health and safety tools, processes, policies, and specific requirements imposed by government agencies.
Collaborate with existing clients and prospects to create and/or update client safety manuals, risk mitigation programs or introduction of new methods of risk management to clients. Collaborate closely with clients to help develop and implement safety and risk management initiatives.
Be a thought leader in the creation of new services, or creative approaches.
Analyze statistical data pertaining to client accident and incident activity and assist the client in implementing programs and procedures to resolve the problem(s).
Prepare and present presentations for large (>100+ people) or small (< 20 people) groups of existing clients or potential clients.
Collaborate closely with our internal producers and client service teams to help grow and retain business.
Work with and provide leadership to the existing risk control group within our practice.
Establish relationships with insurance carrier risk control staff.
Assist clients with improving the organization’s risk profile and addressing specific insurance carrier Risk control recommendations.
Analyze claim data to determine & address adverse risk trends.
Successful Candidates Will Have:
A minimum of 10 - 15 years construction industry risk control/safety experience in an insurance broker or insurance carrier environment, including experience with General Contractors (GCs) and/or subcontractors.
Experience in energy (oil & gas, solar, wind) is a plus.
Bachelor’s Degree is preferred (degreed Safety or related discipline – Construction Management, Science, or Engineering.)
Certifications and safety training courses: CSP, ASP, CHST, CRIS, CSHO, OSHA 30 hour or other construction specific certifications are preferred.
Knowledge of OSHA requirements is required.
Basic knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMSCA) and Mine Safety Hazard Administration (MSHA) is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is required.
Must have exceptional relationship development skills and the ability to communicate in person, in writing, and verbally with sophisticated clients.
Must have strong report writing skills. Examples of past work products will be required.
Capable of travelling up to 60% of the time, including overnight and longer trips. Must have transportation to travel between offices, to event locations and other required destinations and must maintain a valid driver’s license; colleague is expected to provide his/her own vehicle and will be reimbursed for mileage only.
