Anduril’s Legal Team seeks an experienced and highly motivated Legal Counsel-Employment Law. This attorney will be responsible for providing strategic, high-level employment legal advice and guidance to various internal business and HR teams as well as owning the day-to-day tactical execution of the work. The Legal Team partners closely with customers, outside counsel, and business partners across the organization to support business development and day-to-day legal operations.

The Legal Counsel-Employment role will be able to identify potential issues, assess and manage employment law risk, and offer practical, creative solutions to Anduril’s business teams.
The Legal Counsel-Employment will be expected to take responsibility for significant, material projects, which will have a meaningful impact on Anduril’s business. This position requires a strong work ethic, including experience in prioritizing and executing a large number of internal requests, outstanding time management skills, and interfacing with a broad set of internal teams. Anduril fosters a collaborative culture with tremendous opportunities for ownership and professional growth. This position is the first employment counsel hire and will report to the General Counsel.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Provide legal advice and guidance on all aspects of employment law including but not limited to, hiring, recruiting, termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour, leave and disability accommodation, workers compensation, non-competition, employee benefits and other employment related issues.
- Advise on and participate in the resolution of employment-related disputes and investigations.
- Support the HR teams by handling compliance, employee issues, internal investigations, audits, pre-dispute conflicts and labor matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related agreements, policies, and procedures.
- Handle legal demand letters and other disputes.
- Lead and collaborate with cross-functional partners on complex projects to sustain and enhance employment law compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Develop and conduct training for managers and employees on employment-related topics.
- Work closely with specialized outside counsel to manage risk and ensure that internal partners receive effective, business-focused employment law support.
- Provide legal guidance and training on employment and labor issues to HR and management.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of experience with employment law
- Experience advising on HR issues, either firm or in-house
- The judgment and initiative required to own multiple projects from end-to-end
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Fast and effective writer for internal document (e.g., template, policies, etc.) creation
- U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data
- Licensed to practice law in CA
- Willing and able to work in Anduril’s CA office (not a remote position)
- Willing and able to travel 15% of time to the other U.S. offices
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Combination of law firm and in-house experience
- Experience with CA employment law
- Experience with global mobility
- Experience with engineering, software, or other technology companies
- Experience with M&A and integrating newly acquired companies
