Seeking Safety Professional with Industrial Hygiene Experience!
The Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Program Manager will provide on-site OHS and EHS support for a high technology customer. The OHS Program Manager will work independently and as part of a team to support a dynamic and developing global OHS program. The OHS Program Manager will own safety programs from development to implementation and management of the program. The right candidate for this role must not have a rigid approach to safety, but must be adaptable, creative, and collaborative, with a keen ability to build relationships, prioritize tasks, and satisfy multiple stakeholders’ needs. The right candidate will be adept at leveraging internal and external resources to provide excellent deliverables to the customer in a timely manner.
- Owns the development, implementation, and management of Safety Programs; facilitates program communications and provides regular status reports to a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Provides expert advice and consultation to stakeholders for implementing hazard controls, safety training, compliance to local, state, federal, and company standards, and other relevant topics.
- Works with the client to develop coherent workflows and implement procedural efficiencies; Identifies and implements improvement opportunities for the program.
- Performs Industrial Hygiene (IH) Monitoring.
- Conducts incident and injury investigations by working across functional and business groups, maintaining records, and using incident management tools.
- Conducts risk assessments for job tasks, equipment, and other facility design elements.
- Performs audits, walkthroughs, and inspections.
- Manages hazardous waste.
- Maintains inventory and order supplies, consumables and equipment.
- Maintains documentation for each assigned project and deliverable.
- Works with customer to facilitate Supplier Safety Community, to collaborate on safety and health issues with on-campus vendor groups.
- Participates in the Employee Safety Committee and helps to direct the Committee's activities to ensure meaningful engagement from employees.
- Participates in weekly team meetings to prioritize weekly projects/ activities. Activities come from various sources; new or updated activities from the client work teams, injury investigations, maintaining OHS tools and systems.
- Helps to administer and maintain OHS tools and systems.
- Acts as brand ambassador for SGS values and expertise.
- Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, or related field. Degrees in other fields will also be considered, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in the Occupational Health & Safety field OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Occupational Health & Safety industry experience
- High technology industry or R&D experience
- Industrial Hygiene sampling and measurements
- Chemical Hazards
- Hazardous Waste management and disposal
- Safety program creation and implementation
Preferred:
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or ability to obtain
- Certified Ergonomist (CBE) or ability to obtain
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or ability to obtain
- Experience in consulting
