Location

Bronson Methodist Hospital (BMH)

Full-time, Part-time, and PRN candidates must be ready to commit to full-time hours (3 12hr shifts, 7a-7:30p) during the first 6-8 weeks for orientation.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required
CNA license and experience preferred — a great opportunity to put your skills into action!
Obtain BLS Certification by the end of orientation, and keep it active to grow in your role
Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus, but not required — we’re here to support your learning

Job Description: As a Patient Care Assistant (PCA), you’ll be at the heart of patient care, working directly with nurses to provide vital support. Your day-to-day will be dynamic and rewarding as you:

Collaborate with nurses on patient care plans at the start of each shift, ensuring you’re always in the loop
Assist in patient admissions, from gathering initial information to helping them settle in
Take on essential tasks like monitoring vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, etc.)
Help patients with their everyday needs (ADLs), including eating, bathing, and moving
Safely transport patients between units and to diagnostic tests — you’ll be their guide along the way!
Keep patient rooms organized and stocked, maintaining a clean, comfortable, and safe environment
Document everything in the EMR system with precision, ensuring up-to-date patient records
Work alongside your team, supporting the unit by handling supplies, equipment, and more
Take the lead in maintaining safety and comfort — you'll be responsible for turning and repositioning patients using proper techniques
Grow your skills by performing technical care under RN supervision, following protocols and guidelines.

Bonus: Weekend shifts are required, and you may be asked to assist in a Patient Safety Assistant role while balancing your PCA duties!

Working Requirements:

Operate computers and equipment, reading and interpreting data accurately
Keep sensitive information confidential while providing top-tier customer service
Be ready to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly — and occasionally tackle heavier tasks with team support
Maintain patient and employee safety through controlled access and safety procedures
