Job Summary

 

The Senior Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in overseeing a wide range of HR functions within their assigned business units. This includes recruiting, employee relations, performance management, and compliance initiatives. This position collaborates and leads through influence with management and staff to ensure effective implementation of HR strategies, policies, and programs, while leveraging our people processes and relationships to drive better business results. They act as a trusted advisor, guiding employees and leaders on HR-related issues, and work to foster a positive work culture.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leaders, providing insights and recommendations on organizational effectiveness, talent strategy, and workforce planning.
  • Lead employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and corrective actions; ensure appropriate documentation.
  • Provide coaching to leaders on performance management, leadership effectiveness, and change leadership.
  • Ensure consistent and compliant application of HR policies, while proactively identifying opportunities to enhance, streamline, and standardize HR processes.
  • Develop and maintain HR reports, dashboards, and workforce analytics to identify trends, support decision‑making, and drive operational improvements.
  • Partner across the HR function (e.g., COEs, Talent, Total Rewards) to ensure alignment and effective delivery of HR programs and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, as well as internal policies and procedures.
  • Support and influence talent acquisition and workforce planning efforts, including hiring strategies, onboarding effectiveness, and workforce optimization.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture, aligned with company values and employee engagement priorities.

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Education Specifications

 

  • Advanced degree is a plus.

Experience Requirements

 

This position typically requires a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in human resources, with a strong understanding of core HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and compliance with labor laws.  In addition, the successful candidate will have demonstrated the following:

  • Ability to apply conceptual, innovative thinking processes to the practical implementation of systems;  Ability to be forward thinking and strategic with respect to HR processes and systems, creating a climate for change.
  • Ability to influence in the organization to affect change.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic HR support to senior leadership, offering advice on organizational design, performance issues, and employee development, while fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Demonstrated organization and planning skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, insight into group dynamics, high tolerance for ambiguity and change, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-directed, flexible and able to prioritize work.

 

Preferred

  • Proven experience working in a unionized manufacturing setting, with a solid understanding of labor laws, union contracts, grievance processes, and collective bargaining.
